This one-day course will look at some of the factors which influence individuals mental health and which may precipitate mental health problems. It will describe models for understanding mental health problems and will look at different types of mental health problems, associated signs and symptoms and diagnostic classifications used.

 

Target audience:

Priority given to unqualified staff from Health and Social Services as well as staff from a wide range of statutory, voluntary and private agencies. It will also be appropriate for staff who are qualified but have little experience working with people with mental health problems.

 

This course provides the teaching input (for Unit 1 Part 2) for people undertaking the Certificate in Community Mental Health Care.
