This one-day course will look at strategies for promoting
mental health through examining participants strategies. It
will identify and discuss a range of management and
treatment approaches used for the different types of mental
health problems and will describe how access to different
approaches aids choice for service users.
Target audience: Priority given to unqualified staff
from Health and Social Services as well as staff from a wide
range of statutory, voluntary and private agencies. It will
also be appropriate for staff who are qualified but have
little experience working with people with mental health
problems. This course provides the teaching input
(for Unit 2) for people undertaking the Certificate in
Community Mental Health Care. Course
