This introductory course for health and social
care professionals aims to improve knowledge and
understanding of evidence-based practice and support the
development of skills in finding, understanding and acting
on evidence. Overall, it aims to promote evidence-based
health care across the organisation. The course
is taught over three half days and addresses the following
areas:
- Context and rationale for evidence-based practice
- Formulating an appropriate question
- ources of information and searching for evidence
- Identifying common research designs
- Critical appraisal of evidence
- Implementing change
- Evidence-based practice and clinical governance
