This introductory course for health and social care professionals aims to improve knowledge and understanding of evidence-based practice and support the development of skills in finding, understanding and acting on evidence. Overall, it aims to promote evidence-based health care across the organisation.

 

The course is taught over three half days and addresses the following areas:

  • Context and rationale for evidence-based practice
  • Formulating an appropriate question
  • ources of information and searching for evidence
  • Identifying common research designs
  • Critical appraisal of evidence
  • Implementing change
  • Evidence-based practice and clinical governance
