This is a modular based personal development and
supervisory skills programme, which aims to increase
participants’ awareness of the demands of the supervisor’s
role through introduction to the skills involved in managing
themselves and others. The programme examines topics such as
leadership, team building, communication, Health & Safety,
time management and appraisal. The programme
comprises eight one-day taught modules and the completion of
a work-related project presented as a word-processed report.
The programme has been accredited by the Institute of
Leadership and Management (ILM), Britain’s largest
professional association for managers. Successful completion
of the programme will lead to the Introductory Award in
Supervision. The course fee is £222, which should be met by
the participant’s employer. A registration fee (currently £37) will
be met by the participant (includes student membership and
award of Certificate).
