Health Issues for People with Learning Disabilities

A three-day course designed to look at aspects of health promotion, access to primary healthcare and planning to meet the healthcare needs of the person with learning disabilities.

 

The course is open to candidates from the Partnership Trust, the three PCTs, Gloucestershire Social Services, private and voluntary services. Course fees for private and voluntary services are detailed at the back of this directory.

 

Meets knowledge requirements of LDAF Optional Units:

  • Level 2

    021 - Access health care services

    022 - Support a physically healthy lifestyle

    023 - Help service users to manage short-term illness

  • Level 3

    023 - (As above - double unit)

    117 - Support service users to access health care services

    118 - Support service users to achieve a physically healthy lifestyle

Shares knowledge requirements with NVQ Units & National Occupational Standards:

NC7; NC12; NC13; X2: X12; Y2; Y4; Z9; Z11

 

Shares knowledge requirements with NVQ Level 3:

X7 & X10
