A three-day course looking at the causes and
reason for mental health issues in people with learning
disabilities. It aims to develop participants'
awareness of the most common mental health problems, and to
promote an understanding of the possible social impact of
mental health and the complexity surrounding diagnosis.
The course promotes good practice and working in partnership
with other professionals, organisations and carers in
supporting individuals with the dual diagnosis of learning
disability and mental ill-health. Meets knowledge
requirements of LDAF Optional Units:
Level 2
- 041 - Contribute to the management of mental
ill-health
Level 3
- 132 - Help service users to manage mental ill-health
Shares knowledge requirements with NVQ Units &
