Protecting People with Learning Disabilities from Abuse

This new two-day course meets the knowledge requirements of Mandatory Units for LDAF at both Levels 2 and 3. The course enables candidates to contribute to protection from abuse by focusing on how to recognise perpetrator behaviour & attitudes and their effect on victims of abuse. It considers the basic needs of human beings and how these relate to neglect, and identifies the candidates’ own role (within inter-agency policy & procedures) in relation to disclosure, investigation and the aftermath of abuse.

 

The course is open to candidates from the Partnership Trust, the three PCTs, Gloucestershire Social Services, private and voluntary services. Course fees for private and voluntary services are detailed at the back of this directory.

 

Meets knowledge requirements of LDAF Mandatory Units:

  • Level 2: 009 - Contribute to protection from abuse
  • Level 3: 106 - Protect from abuse

Shares knowledge requirements with NVQ Units & Occupational Standards:

  • Level 2: Z1; Z8
  • Level 3: C15; Z18
