The course will include:
- What do we mean by child and adult mental health?
- Positive and negative influences on the development of
children and young people.
- The impact of trauma on children's lives and
development.
- Emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties
in children and young people.
- Responding to emotional difficulties and challenging
behaviours.
- Ethical working practices and the rights of children
and young people.
- Assessment
- Evidence-based practice.
- 15 CAT points at Level 2 or 3
Target audience: Those working with
children and young people, who would like a foundation
training in child and adolescent mental health and are
able to study at Degree Level 2 or 3. Cost to be
approximately £140. Held in conjunction with
Gloucestershire Partnership NHS Trust and the University
of Gloucestershire. The course will be based in
Gloucester.
