Welcome to the Training Directory
Values for Training and
Development Welcome to the Training directory for
Shared Services. It will give you guidance in relation to
Mandatory Study Days and additional information relating to
study days, courses and services available from the Training
and Education Team. The Training Team continues to provide the
portfolio of training previously offered whilst developing
links with the new organisations to establish a countywide
approach to training, education and development.
The agenda for training, education and continuous
professional development has never been of higher
importance, and the Training Team aims to positively respond
to the challenges detailed in ‘Working Together - Learning
Together’ A Framework for Lifelong Learning for the NHS,
published by the DoH in November 2001. The team
aims to build on existing knowledge and skills, promote
research and evidence-based practice, problem-solving
approaches and service development. It is also committed to
providing a wide-range of learning opportunities through
planned programmes and tailor-made activities to meet your
needs. A key task remains the production of a training, education and development
strategy and plan which reflects the needs and priorities of
individual organisations. It is therefore important to
acknowledge and recognise the support the training team
receives from colleagues internal and external to the Trust
to deliver high quality training and education for staff,
which reflect strategic organisational plans. Any
comments, feedback or suggestions about any aspect of
Training, Education and Development for Shared Services are
gratefully received. Our aim is to continue to
work towards improving services through the support and
development of a skilled, confident and competent workforce.
Values for Training and Development
The values which underpin all training,
education and development are those which seek to:-
- empower staff to implement and change practice
- provide training and development in ways which stretch
and develop staff, recognising and building on individual
skills and experience
- stimulate and challenge and be of perceived value to
the individual and the service
- be directly relevant to identified agreed service
priorities
- be well planned and competently facilitated
- be accessible and available to staff as part of their
personal development plans
- review, evaluate and constantly improve the quality of
services provided.
