A three-day course to gain an understanding of
the ageing process, to develop the knowledge and skills
required to assess and define the changing needs of people
with learning disabilities as they get older and to enhance
the quality of life for older people with learning
disabilities. The course is open to candidates
from the Partnership Trust, the three PCTs, Gloucestershire
Social Services, private and voluntary services. Course fees
for private and voluntary services are detailed at the back
of this directory. Meets knowledge requirements
of LDAF Optional Units:
- Level 2:
014 - Promote service user participation in
community life 043 - Respond to the health care and
support needs of older people
- Levels 2 and 3 (Double Unit):
035 - Help service
user to manage dementia
- Level 3:
136 - Manage the health care and support
needs of older people
