Mental Health in Primary Care Certificate in Professional Studies

The course is open to all health professionals working in primary healthcare. It is designed to meet the educational needs of staff who do not hold existing mental healthcare qualifications, and is of relevance to practice and district nurses, health visitors, midwives and their teams. It offers participants an opportunity to gain 15 CATS points at level 11.

 

The course covers common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. Participants will learn to recognise these symptoms in patients and to differentiate them from other stress related problems or more serious mental illnesses.

 

Assessment is made through written and project work.
