Approved Social Work Practice Assessor Training

 

This 2 day course provides the CCETSW Practice Assessor requirements for assessing students on the ASW course.

 

This course aims to give participants the opportunity to look at the role of the Practice Assessor within the framework of the revised CCETSW Paper 19:19. On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Outline the requirements of ASW training as contained in the CCETSW Paper 19:19 (revised version) and relate this to the ASW Programme/Advanced Diploma
  • Define the roles and tasks of the Practice Assessor
  • Plan appropriate learning opportunities to enable students to develop and demonstrate the required range of competencies
  • Offer skilled supervision to ASW students and assess their competence to practice

Target Audience and Criteria

  • ASW's
  • Prior to application for this course, candidates must have at least one year's experience since authorisation

The course is a combination of facilitator input, interactive discussion, group work and exercises.

 

Facilitators:

Facilitators are drawn from the South West of England Approved Social Work Training Consortium.
