Addressing Aggressive Situations

 

De-escalation and Communication with People Who are Aggressive

A half-day workshop for health care support workers and non-clinical staff who may have to deal with potentially aggressive situations.

 

The workshop is based on the Assessment Communication and Tactics (ACT) model of de-escalation and will include:

  • assessing the situation
  • communication skills
  • principles of problem solving
  • practical application of skills and knowledge

Facilitator for the above workshop will be a member of staff from the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, Wotton Lawn.
